Peak Performance online is a remote team building activity where teams lead their guides up Mount Everest to the summit and return safely to basecamp over a 20-day expedition. Participants join the activity via video conferencing and work in teams in break out rooms. Each team member is responsible for a specific role and the related knowledge. They decide on how they will move each day and enter it into the game tablet. There are many variables to consider including changing weather conditions and terrain. Teams must make collaborative decisions based on elements such as oxygen requirements, acclimatisation, pitching tents and the like. Ultimately, the team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
Peak Performance is an emotionally gripping experiential learning tool which has been designed to change people’s understanding of, attitude towards and soft skills for working collaboratively as a remote team. Participants learn about working remotely as a team through the use of an engaging theme and relevant links to their business environment. Following the experience, participants use reflective observation to identify what occurred during the exercise, what decisions they made and the consequences of these decisions. Participants are able to make effective behavioural changes by understanding and accepting the implications of their choices.

The event succeeded beyond our expectations: challenging, interactive, dedicating team spirit. We were a little nervous at first because this was our first time hosting an online teambuilding program. The Catalyst team did their best to make sure everything ran smoothly and the colleagues loved it!
